MO + JOE’S MATERNITY SESSION

Nick-of-time; At the last possible moment. This was true in more ways than one when it came to Mo and Joe’s maternity session. I generally like to book my soon-to-be Mommies at 34 to 36 weeks and in Mo’s case, it is a good thing we did! Mo had her baby boy exactly two weeks after this session and I had just launched her gallery. Funny thing was, she said she was looking at her pictures and just about to email me when her water broke!

Boston was born three weeks early at 8:40 in the morning, measuring 19 3/4th and weighing 6 pounds and  9 ounces. I get to meet him tomorrow for his photo debut and I can’t wait to see this beautiful boy!

Congratulations Mo and Joe for inviting me into such an intimate moment of your lives. I truly appreciate your kindness and new friendship and look forward to this next  year of watching baby Boston grow.

MOLLY + STEVE’S AMELIA ISLAND WEDDING

There are just some couples that just make you feel like you have been friends forever. Molly with her infectious smile and Steve with his southern-gentleman swagger,  treated me like I was their long-lost sister the day of their wedding. I mean the moment I met Molly in her hotel room she was giving my assistant and I gift baskets and drinks! How could I say no to hospitality like that?

Molly and Steve met in Tennessee. They both worked for a local TV news station for almost ten years when Steve landed a job as a sports anchor for a news station here in Jacksonville. That old saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder?” Well, it worked like a charm and a little over a year later Steve was toasting his bride on their wedding day.

Molly and Steve…I hope that you two had a wonderful time on your honeymoon and are still riding it’s waves! It was a joy to have watched you so intimately on this special day. I want to sincerely thank you for being so kind and genuine to me and I bless you both and your future together!

dana newsome - LOVE all the laughter! congrats on capturing amazing, happy moments :) August 25, 2010 – 1:10 pm

THIRD TIMES A CHARM

Ever get the feeling you are playing a long, drawn out version of musical chairs? No? Well, I do! Why yes folks, I am moving my studio AGAIN! My big announcement is finally here! This is my third move in three years and hopefully the last.  The lease was up and it was a good time to make the move. This year with my oldest going to kindergarten I needed to slow down a bit. It is a bitter-sweet for sure. My long time friend and studio partner Stacy is keeping the space while I move just two blocks down the street. Literally. I found the sweetest space near my old studio in this one hundred year old, two story Victorian. (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT!) It’s wonderful natural light, original wood floors, front porches and old world charm was calling my name.  It is a MUCH smaller space where I will mostly be focusing on newborns and tiny tots, and of course will serve as a great space for Amy and I to meet wedding clients.

Thank you Stacy for always being there for me and being such a great friend. It was great times sharing this adventure with you and will miss that business venture!

So, I will be frantically working these next few weeks to get my new space ready for shooting! I am also working on the final details of my HOLIDAY MINI SESSIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED LATER THIS WEEK…and this years studio minis will be my sweetest deal yet! Here’s a sneak peek of one of this year’s holiday cards…..

MO + JO’S MATERNITY SNEAK PEEK

I am finally back to work after summer vacation and have spent the last two nights editing my little fingers off. I am just getting to Mo and Jo’s maternity session I shot last week in a Jacksonville Beach hotel. I know Mo is anxious to see her gallery so I thought I would post this one little teaser.

Also, on a side note….BIG ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEK! F’REAL THIS TIME!

Laura Bobik - Where are you located? We are looking for someone to do a newborn session sometime in early to mid November. We are expecting our first child (a daughter!).
We live in Stuart, FL. If working with you is a possibility, would you please send me some pricing information?
Thanks!August 27, 2010 – 2:44 pm

Rebecca - Beautiful :) Can’t wait to see the rest!August 17, 2010 – 7:25 am

MY LITTLE BIG GIRL

Tomorrow is her big day. Her giant step towards “big kid.”  Josie, my sweet-as-pie, ray-of-sunshine of a girl starts kindergarten. She has no idea how momentous this occasion is, and how bitter-sweet this is for me.  As we all know she cannot begin to fathom how precious these last 5 years with her have been to me until she walks in motherhood’s shoes. The wisdom thing comes with age and every year I sure keep gaining that!

When I was pregnant with Josie, I swore this girl would giggle inside of me. The nurses said from her ultrasound that by the size of her cheeks she HAD to have a beautiful smile. They were on the money. By the time Josie was 11 days old she was grinning from ear to ear.  She is the light of her Daddy and my life and I truly cannot believe that she is starting grade school.  I feel like the last 5 years has fast forwarded to this moment and I am scrambling to find the pause button!

But alas, it is happening. I have been blessed to have taken most of the summer off to be home with her.  Her vocabulary has shot through the roof. Shes swimming on her own and has finaly mastered egg cracking. She is making so many connections now that it is truly amazing to see. Where did my baby go?

So, for those of you Mommies who are dropping your little ones off this week and the next for their first shot at the *real world* I am right there with you. Tears, camera and all.

*Stay tuned for a few pix of her first day!

Jaime Smith - Aww, Amy so sweet. Thanks all of you!August 20, 2010 – 12:34 pm

Amy Barry - Beautiful Josie!!! I remember the first time we met. We had lunch together at Johnny’s and I giggled at you, Momma. You had all these little plastic containers with perfectly sliced healthy foods for your toddler. I loved watching you as a first time mommy. I can’t believe it’s time for that sweet little blonde haired girl to start school. I know the emotions. I cried my eyes out when my first born child started Kindergarten. And now he’s in Jr High. Guess what? I cried the day he started Jr High too. They grow up too fast. So {{{HUGS}}} and I love you!August 20, 2010 – 8:56 am

Kay Hensel - Wow…what a special time. Enjoy every moment. Josie is so blessed to have you and Jason as parents. Look forward to the great times that lie ahead.August 16, 2010 – 7:10 pm

terrilee - Yep, it’s a big step and one that you won’t ever forget! I can still picture amy going off to school the first time ~ tears, smiles, memories….they were all there and you’ll keep ‘em, Jaime, tucked safely inside while all the other adventures happen ~ it will still be a tender one :) August 16, 2010 – 12:02 pm
